This is today's test. The goal is to say as many words as I can in 45-minutes. Let's see how this goes, and I hope it goes well.
I shall begin with a recap of this week. On Monday, I woke up feeling very sick. I don't know what caused my illness. Allergies? Perhaps something I caught from my niece. Whatever the case, I felt low energy, sluggish, and I got no work done, and it was a poor time. On Tuesday, my body improved, but lingering effects remained. I was able to do some work. On Wednesday, I improved greatly and I was able to not do any work, but I prepared for church and I played at the event.
Band practice was on Thursday. I didn't work that day. I need to do better. Today, Friday, I did much better. I was able to do a little bit of work, and right now I'm testing my writing skills on this feature.
Now I would like to shift to talking about some goals and plans I had for this year and how they are going. With regard to music, I originally had planned to make a new piece of music every month, and I had originally planned to live stream the music creation process. I had scheduled my first live stream in January. I never did that. I haven't done it in February or March as well. I did change my plan with regard to my music deployment. I did not release any music in January, February, and March, but I had a new plan. Instead of releasing music every month, I will release an album of 3 or 4 songs at the end of the year. I will do a release party or whatever I'm supposed to be doing. I will put it up on streaming platforms, and I'll make social media posts talking about it. I think this is more doable, than posting every month.
Another goal I wanted to do was to increase my writing and improve my writing. I did very little of that during the first quarter of this year, although I will start to do it more often now since I have this nice speech-to-text software. I'm currently going through a book that teaches me how to describe well, to think clearly, visualize things from different senses, and come up with creative, more descriptive descriptions. I had already read through it several months ago, but I never did any of the exercises. Today, this year, in the coming months and weeks, I will read through them again and intentionally go through all the exercises and see if I can improve. I will also go through some of my other textbooks that teach me creative writing and go through the lessons. I have read through them and took some notes, but never implemented the exercises, which is what I need to do.
With regard to relationships and things like that, hopefully I can improve. About a month ago, I was watching an online lesson through a pro-writing aid thing, and it was going over some causes of overthinking. I liked that talk, so I bought two books. I read the first one and I took notes. I think it's helpful just to understand what overthinking does, understand some of the causes, and understand some ways I can address them and improve my life. I have not done too well in implementing all the exercises, so I do need to go over my notes and make sure I just write my thoughts out and be aware of what I'm thinking and challenge my thinking.
I would also like to use these newfound skills of preventing myself from overthinking to challenge myself to engage in more social interaction. I want to be engaged in conversations. I would like to go to more events and just hang out with people and not be so anxious or just overthinking about what other people think about me. Often the case I am quite silent, not engaging in the conversation. I kind of think to myself, "Can I say something, or how do I jump in?" Or try and look for opportunities, and hopefully I can improve on that. I did briefly, in one conversation, jump in and say something. I left a curt remark. They were talking about something. I don't remember what they were talking about, but I brought up some weird conspiracy theory about the Pentagon receiving a pizza, and that means that something's going down.
Anyway, I would like to talk to a girl and go on a date. There is a beautiful girl at church. I don't know what she thinks or if she even notices me. When people have conversations, I know that she sometimes looks at me, but I can't tell if that's anything special or just normal looking around and looking at people. I could be biased and just only noticing things. I do know how I feel when I notice people doing those things. And it feels good if I like to imagine in my head that this person notices me, but again I don't know. I can't read the mind. I could be completely biased and just read into scenes that don't exist. I've been reading a bunch of posts on Reddit about body language and how many people often have the same questions. They see people do little motion here, little eye contact there, and they wonder, "Does this mean something? Is this person interested?" A lot of common responses are just "Go talk," so that's something I'm trying to work on.
One of the things I'm trying to improve this year is to get a job and make a lot of money. It was something I was very concerned about at the beginning of this month, beginning of January, and I spent a lot of time researching. I decided to take some online courses. The course is about business intelligence, data analytics, particularly focusing on using Microsoft Power BI. So far I've progressed through more than half of it, and it's been going well. I find it interesting. I think I can do well and provide value and wonderful experience to a company. As soon as I'm finished with the course, I have to do some certification exam. Then hopefully once I pass that, I will update my resume, update my LinkedIn profile, and just see what happens. I have to start applying for jobs. After I graduated from college, I applied for maybe four or six jobs, then didn't get any response. Several months later, I got some responses saying we declined, but from what I understand, I have to be a little bit more proactive, a little bit more interactive, and just apply for a bunch of things. Just hundreds, maybe.
I have reached the 15-minute mark and spoken more than I expected. This is going very well, and I hope this practice will help me talk more confidently. By practicing speaking, carefully choosing my words, and thinking clearly, I aim to be more engaging and better at reading social cues. Sometimes my words are unclear, and I tend to ramble, but I am working to improve.
I will attempt to be descriptive of my surroundings, to be aware, and just to think of things. Beside me, to my left, is a red pleather chair. It has several worn spots at the top where the head rests and where the arm rests. The chair is very squeaky. When one sits and moves around in it, you can hear the old age. If one can plug in the electronics, you can recline. Otherwise, it's just a normal sitting chair. I think my parents originally bought two of these chairs. I don't know why they bought them. They don't go well with anything. I don't like the pleather texture; it's not soft. Is that comforting? Does it feel peaceful or restful, or relaxing?
I have an air conditioning unit. This is, I think, the third one or fourth. Originally, I had an air conditioning unit installed in the wall. That stopped working; then I got a window unit installed. That unit eventually stopped working. We got a new one. That one began making terrible noises about a few weeks in. We then replace that with a brand new one, which works significantly better. It's very quiet and keeps me cool. I do need to be much better at maintaining and cleaning it so that it lasts longer. The previous air conditioning unit is still in my room; it's just sitting in a corner, just taking up space that I should be using for something else, to be honest.
I'm honestly wow, it's kind of difficult to come up with things to say for 45 minutes straight. I think I've said all the things that I want to say. I've used up about half the time, so it should be good to see just how much I can just blot out in about twenty minutes. Thank you for listening, and good night.
This is the best feature that i have ever known.
